# IMAP Setup/App Password Guide

**Important:**

* Make sure **2FA** and **Account Recovery Phone** are removed from your retail accounts.
* Follow the steps below to set up IMAP

## Step 1: **Creating an App Password**

**Google (Gmail):**

1. Open Google Chrome and sign into your Gmail account.
2. Click on your profile picture in the top right corner and select **Manage Your Google Account**.

3. Go to the **Security** section.

4. Scroll down to **2-Step Verification** and turn it **On** (this step is required to enable App Passwords).
5. Search for **App Passwords** and re-enter your Gmail password if prompted.

6. Name the App Password something memorable (e.g., "ACO").
7. Copy the generated App Password and save it/submit it in ACO forms that require App Password/IMAP!

That's it! You'll now have an App Password that will automatically allow us to fetch codes as required by websites we run ACO on.
