# Target Reseller Cancel Guide

### Target Reseller Cancels

Target is known to monitor and occasionally flag accounts associated with resale activity. One of the most critical flags you can encounter is the **Reseller Cancel** — a soft or hard ban that usually stems from too many high-demand purchases coming from the same zip code or account in a short span of time. If you need to check if your recent cancelled order was hit with **Reseller Status** review our [Cancel Check Guide](/naviaco-public-guides/profile-guides-requirements/target/target-cancel-check-guide.md)

**This guide will help you:**

* Understand what a Reseller Cancel is
* Test and assess if your account is recoverable
* Know when and how to replace a burned account
* Avoid getting flagged again using proper jigging and warming methods

### What Is a Reseller Cancel?

Reseller Cancels happen when Target's systems detect abnormal purchase behavior — usually linked to:

* Multiple high-demand orders from the same zip code
* Repeated use of the same address or name on "hyped products" in a short period of time
* Lack of jigging across accounts

There’s **no published limit**, but most resellers suggest waiting **at least 24 hours** before reusing a zip. If you begin seeing your orders canceled with the “Reseller” reason, it likely means you've crossed a hidden threshold. To learn more about Reseller Cancels visit our full in-depth [guide on Target Cancels](/naviaco-public-guides/profile-guides-requirements/target/target-cancel-check-guide.md).

{% hint style="info" %}
A Reseller flag isn’t always permanent — but if even regular grocery or low-risk items won’t process, your account is likely burned.
{% endhint %}

### **Reseller Accounts Types**

* **Recoverable Target Account:**\
  An account that received a Reseller cancel but can still place basic/grocery orders. With proper jigging, it may return to full functionality.
* **Dead Target Account:**\
  An account that gets all orders canceled (even groceries). No amount of jigging will fix it — it’s permanently flagged and should be retired.

## What to do if you got a Reseller Cancel

Don’t panic at the first Reseller cancel. Here’s how to assess your account status:

#### Step 1: Test the account hit with reseller status

* Try placing an order for **groceries** or **low-risk items (non hyped products like cards/consoles)** for in-store pickup.
* If the order **sticks**, the account may be **recoverable**.
* If it **immediately cancels**, the account is a **Dead Target Account**. (Transitioning to a new account is required)

#### Step 2A: Grocery order STUCK (No cancel) - Account Recovery

If your grocery order stuck proceed with this section, your account may be recoverable. If your order **did not stick** proceed to **Step 2B.**

To proceed do the following:

* Change **every detail** on the account:
  * Name (jig)
  * Address (jig)
  * Billing info (Card details, etc)
  * Phone Number
* Upon full change of all account details, your account is ready to retry for future ACO purchases.
* If you used a **RedCard**, in-store purchases will still go through/apply the discount normally, though to be safe you may want to consider **using a different RedCard** moving forward if you want to attempt future online purchases.
  * Refer to the [Multiple RedCard Guide](/naviaco-public-guides/profile-guides-requirements/target/multiple-redcard-guide.md) for creating extras safely.

#### Step 2B: Replacing a Dead Target Account

If your account is dead, the only real option is to start fresh. Follow this process:

***Create a Clean Slate Account***

* Use a **new IP** (VPN or mobile hotspot)
* Open a **new incognito/private browser and** [**sign up for a new account.**](https://www.target.com/account)
* Use **completely different info**:
  * New Email
  * New Shipping/Billing Name
  * Fully jigged/differnet address (Refer to [Jig Profiles Guide](/naviaco-public-guides/guides/how-to-jig-profiles.md) if you need suggestions!)
  * Fresh billing card
  * Different Phone Number

{% hint style="info" %}
**Recommend Card Types for Target in order of Priority: Redcard > HardCard > VCC**
{% endhint %}

### **Warming New Target Accounts**

To help your new account build trust/order history:

* Start with **grocery or essentials orders** via **in-store pickup** through the website or app.
* Place an order for **in-stock Panini branded cards** to simulate a “hype” item purchase.
* Fresh accounts with **no order history** may still have orders stick, your chances only increase if the first two steps mentioned are followed.
